Annual Day of Kids & Caring at Shady Oaks!
Every school year, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County partners with Publix and the United Way to bring school supplies to youth of Lee County. The packages of school supplies are purchased and donated by customers at Publix Supermarkets throughout the summer months. Today Publix dropped off three massive truckloads full of these school supplies!
Volunteers have been working this afternoon to sort hundreds of supplies that will be given to the youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs as well as other charities in Southwest Florida.
The main event begins tomorrow, September 3rd at the Boys & Girls Club at Shady Oaks, located at 3280 Marion Street (Shady Oaks Community Center) in Fort Myers from 10am to 2pm.
A total of 700 bags of supplies will be given away, filled with notebook paper, folders, tissues, pens, pencils and markers will be provided to the youth.
Publix will be providing healthy snacks for all in attendance. We invite the young people of Lee County, as well as their families to join us in the festivities. Bounce houses, slides, an obstacle course, video games and other fun activities will be available for everyone to enjoy! Please try to stop by and enjoy this Day of Caring.
A big Thank You to Publix, United Way, our volunteers and all of the people of Lee County for their generous donations that will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs and other charities throughout Lee County.
